Unfortunately, because we had long hair and looked like freaks, no one took us seriously. Literally everything that's being touted around as eco-this, environally-friendly that, was all stuff we seriously banged on about 30+ years ago. We were still too late even then, I reckon. When I was in my 20s (and before that in my teens), I was a member of the Green Party in the UK (and Friends of the Earth). Unfortunately, because we had long hair and looked like freaks, no one took us seriously. Or even clean water for that matter. Don't get me wrong, if you work hard and earn your money you have every right to have a chip bowl, I wouldn't begrudge anyone that right, but does it have to be a $240 one? As for the socially responsible shopping bags, I bought one myself (for $1) at the grocery store, but I really think I could knit and felt one that was far superior to the one that I bought. Of course that would cost more than $1, though.
